Hypnagogia: A New Lilith Folktale and Cirque Adventure

This whimsical circus adventure produced by Starry Night Productions features mythology, circus, dance, and a brand new score written by David Rynhart and Cassidy Bacon (played live).

Sylvia has just found out that she is pregnant with a little girl and could not be more thrilled, except for one tiny detail…

the curse that has passed through her maternal line for
generations will surely be passed onto her child.

She is haunted by demons that thrive in the space between sleeping and waking - the hypnagogic state.

Tales passed from her mother and grandmother say that the curse hails from the banished first wife of Adam in the garden of Eden - the baby eating demon, Lilith.

To save her child, Sylvia resolves to face Lilith once and for all, passing through the veil into the realm of fantastical dreams. But as in all journeys, Sylvia is about to learn that this curse is so, so much more.

Written by Colorado playwright Cassidy Bacon, and featuring an all new album-length soundtrack created and played live by David Rynhart and Cassidy Bacon, Hypnagogia draws from multicultural folklore, legends of Lilith, and personal family history to tell a deeply human story about inheritance, identity, and hope through the language of circus, dance, and live music.
